A note to friends... The Self-Care Sisterhood is Open

Friends I first need to say… THANK YOU to everyone who sent messages after my video last week about how I don’t want to talk about Isis anymore. It was just… BEYOND the support I really wanted. I appreciate every message and comment so deeply. Sharing my journey with you is such an honor and to be received is so beautiful.

And today I’m sharing MORE about receiving. Receiving something I’ve been craving for… oh, going on a few years now.

Sisterhood. Women supporting women, but in a day-to-day kind of way. Not in a huge cheerleader or overly indulgent with their sob story kind of way… like, real day to day women talking about the mundane magic of every day stuff. This is truly where my heart is. This is where I feel like, yeah I can show up for that every day. Not only can I, omg what if that is what I committed myself too? Can we resurrect online sisterhoods?

I have thought a lot about this, what works and what I don’t think works. Here is what I’ve found.

It’s a FULL TIME job to be that person. The person that can facilitate safe sisterhood online. It’s a JOB. Now, is it a good job? Sure! If we aren’t talking about money as an object! Yeah! Woo hoo!

But - that is so unfair. We all have bills to pay and we all want an exchange for our energy. This is universal. This is how it is.

So I’ve thought about this and how sad it was to go through that roller coaster of the archived sisterhood FB days… **Specifically, for my OG readers here, you know I’m praising Ali’s work. She was very much a pioneer in that space and I was so happy to be in that journey. She thought BIG for so many women, she’s amazing.

But that fizzled away for me and frankly for good reason. No drama, it just wasn’t working anymore.

So here I am a few years later and I crave to connect with women online beyond emojis. I sort of hate emojis now. I only use them as a new digital age rule of politeness. Etiquette online, if you will.

But how to do this in a good way? (Thank you for this phrase and question Kaia Ra. It always serves me)

For me, I know I enjoy participating in a community. It really suites me and I love being someone who can help any time I can. I think we all feel this way, we’ve just become distant from this being so deeply anchored in our everyday life. We all need to fill our cups. And within the current structures and powers that be, this requires money. Constantly and consistently it seems. And so I am embracing this. I am flowing with this, and my clarity has come flooding in.

The solution that feels really best for me is voting with our dollar. Voting for good health, non-toxic living, supporting organic farms, supporting work at home moms, supporting ourselves with real, everyday, sisterhood available to us. These are the things I would like my dollar to vote for.

So I am giving this background so you can understand why I have dedicated myself so completely to Young Living. When I made this change to my business plan, Ben gave me a look... A look like… “are you sure? Are you sure you want to be the essential oil person?”

And I had thought a lot about that. There is a perception of hollowness and misinformation (because it’s true) about this industry. But really at the end of the day who cares what other people think? There are things that are not absolutely perfect about it, but they are so, so insignificant to me now that I have seen so many lives changed with every day sort of changes.

I told Ben “It’s not perfect, but it’s pretty fucking close.” And that totally changed his perspective. He opened his mind and heart to this and has supported me in enormous ways for two years as I’ve built my business. I’ve not done it perfectly and I’m still learning a lot about creating a much larger business, but it’s been incredible to reach the rank of Silver within the company and support my family with that paycheck.

A main component to what I have been building is my Self-Care Sisterhood called Juniper & Roses. This is a place of wellness, purpose and abundance. The only way to be apart of this community is to join Young Living as a member (which is more simple and less invasive than a Costco membership) within my organization.

That means you need to get a starter kit of Young Living Essential Oils with me. Then I can add you to this sisterhood.

Once you get a membership through me, you are now grandfathered in to ALL of the community that is within my team - the woman who enrolled me (hi Faye), the person that enrolled her (Heyyyy Sarah) and up and up and up. Not only do you have the resources to be in my group, but all the women above me. It is a growing circle of support. It’s really important to understand the benefits you receive from who you sign up with, it’s not all equal.

It has become impossible for me to imagine a more ideal solution on how to resurrect true daily sisterhood online than to join this Young Living team and have daily access to such support.

Here are some of the things that you will experience and find in my group, Juniper & Roses alone (there are others you will be added to depending on your needs and desires):

  • A fully hand held experience learning about how to use essential oils in your home, family, health and emotional release.

  • Classes upon classes of resources for you to go back to.

  • An optional guide to join the leaders and grow residual income with the YL compensation plan.

  • Inspiration and accountability for your wellness goals

  • Direct access to myself and the other leaders who are committed to this full time.

  • Annual meet ups at Young Living events

  • As with ALL communities this will be what YOU decide to make of it. There is not a solution I am trying to give you, but an invitation for you to jump into something that is bigger than yourself. This is what I have seen by linking arms with others. When we ALL jump together the momentum is bigger and better.

  • You can find essential oils from a loooooooooot of people. But if you are looking to join a growing community of real women navigating real life, then we’d love to meet you.

Common Questions:

What does it mean to be a Young Living Member?

You are signing up with a “WHOLESALE” membership. Not retail. That is more so for brick and mortar businesses and you don’t have many benefits. Here is a bit more about the wholesale membership:

  • No renewal fee; simply purchase a minimum of $50pv of product per year and your account stays active

  • No order minimum – order whenever you like, as often as you like at 24% off retail prices

  • Although Young Living calls their wholesale customers “Distributors” this does NOT mean that you are signing up to sell oils and there is absolutely no pressure to do so – ever.

  • Member number to share with friends; if they order using your member number, you’ll receive compensation (but, again, enrolling as a “Distributor” does NOT mean that you have to share oils with anyone; although, once you discover how wonderful and pure they are, it will be hard not to tell your friends)

Do I have to run a business or share about oils?

No never. But a lot of the women who join me educate themselves on what this could mean as extra income because it’s pretty straightforward. You have a link and share it and a check arrives at your house. So no, but you have an affiliate link if you want to start using it and pay off the starter kit.

Do I have to pay for something monthly?

It’s optional. When checking out with your starter kit, feel free to select "no thank you" for the Essential Rewards, or! choose a package and ship them together for extra savings. If you don't want a package and you just want one to customize your own, follow these instructions:

+ Go into Essential Rewards

+ Click continue to autoship

+ Click EDIT

+ Click add product

+ Click Save

I strongly recommend this. You get 10-20% back in points each month, you can purchase products that you would be buying anyways (shampoo, vitamins, toothpaste, etc) while hitting that 100 PV (product value, which is typically one point per dollar) to get commissions, discounted shipping and more! You do not have to sign up with a package, you can tailor it to meet your needs. This is the only way to make commissions if you are interested in building a business. You can cancel anytime.

Thank you for taking some time to read about where my attention and energy is focused right now. I believe in sufficiency, sisterhood and self-care.
